My friend had a craving for French toast this morning so that’s exactly what I made. My aunt gave me this recipe and said it was a nice spin on typical French toast.
- 6 slices of thick sliced bread
- zest from 1 orange
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- powdered sugar
Combine all ingredients, except powdered sugar and syrup, in a large shallow container. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Briefly soak bread slices in mixture and cook until golden brown on both sides, approximately 2 minutes on each side. Sprinkle powdered sugar over French toast and serve with syrup.
