Salads are a Girl’s Best Friend

And a guy’s too, I guess. I really love salads. And not because they’re low calorie and healthy for you. I like them because there are so many variations! Tonight, my salad contained mini cucumbers, baby carrots, romaine lettuce, purple onion, red seedless grapes and cheddar cheese. I, of course, made my one of my homemade dressing of honey mustard, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, italian seasonings, agave nectar, and salt and pepper. Oh, and my favorite ingredient, chow mein noodles! It really makes the salad. The sky really is the limit with all the different types of nuts and seeds, lettuces, fruits, and cheeses. Not to mention adding some grilled chicken or medium rare steak or pepper-crusted tuna? Man, oh man! I just ate my salad and I’m getting hungry again.

I’d really LOVE to hear your ideas and what your favorite salad combinations are. I’d be really interested to try them!

Have a great night!

  1. WHY DO SOME PEOPLE ENJOY SUCH A VARIETY OF FOOD FLAVORS….AND YET OTHERS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH THEY TRY, CAN’T STOMACH OR RATHER CAN’T STAND THE TASTE OF MANY FOODS…i.e. I CAN’T EAT PAMMENTOS, OLIVES, SWEET PICKLES, CATSUP, MUSTARD, ITS NOT THAT I HAVENT TRIED THEM…I’VE TRYED THEM ALL THE TASTE CAN’T PASS MY TOUNG WITHOUT BEING REJECTED IN THE MOST VIOLENT OF WAYS…SUCH AS BELLPEPPER, I CAN TOLLARATE THE TASTE BUT THE BELCH AFFECT WILL LINGER FOR DAYS, THUS CAUSING ME TO REJECT THEM AT ALL COST…ANY EVIDENCE THAT ITS NO JUST IN MY HEAD…?

  2. I have discovered artichoke hearts on a salad bar recently and love to add some to whatever else is on my plate. Thanks for the inspiration Danielle.

  3. Oh yes. There’s nothing like a good greek-inspired salad with artichoke hearts, feta, purple onion and vinaigrette. Thanks for checking out my blog Ms. Margaret!

  4. I’m not quite sure Uncle E. If you grew up not liking these foods, then I’m pretty sure you’ve settled yourself to not being open-minded to them now. I guess some of us are born with an ambitious pallette and others aren’t. Thanks for stopping by! See you in a couple of weeks!
